The LHS Flames and Dance classes will perform their spring show on Friday. The show starts at 7:00 p.m, and doors will open at 6:15 p.m.
“Spring show is an accumulation of the entire year,”director Janna Davis said. “All of our hard work, every inside joke and everyone’s personality makes up each and every routine.”
The dancers and Davis choreograph almost all new dances for the show, apart from some that were for competitions.
“Some of the numbers we have been working on are from our competition season,” Davis said. “One of them, we started on in June of 2025. Others, we started in November of 2025. However, we started all of our specialty Spring Show pieces about a month before.”
The team practices every day after school until 5:30 p.m, with additional rehearsals during class and academic period.
“Preparing for the spring show, I have been practicing, helping others and helping lead our new team,” freshman Carley-Etta Renshaw said. “The most difficult part of rehearsing has been keeping up with activities outside of dance while staying on top of my responsibilities as a dancer.”
The Flames only have a one-week break after competition season, before fully starting to work on the spring show.
“I’ve been looking forward to getting the chance to perform the duet that Gabby and I choreographed together because we spent countless hours practicing and sacrificing our free time for it,” Renshaw said. “My favorite part of the spring show season is having the freedom to create a routine that’s not a competition piece and to incorporate one that will make the crowd laugh.”
Flames and Dance have spent hours perfecting dances and planning surprises for the crowd to make it a show that they believe everyone can enjoy.
“I think that people should come out to see the show because we have been working for a while to clean and choreograph these dances, and the spring show is a fun experience for dancers and audience members,” freshman Zoey Rivas said.
The Flames and Dance classes plan to entertain the audience with not only choreographed dances, but with snow cones, raffles and “celebrity appearances.”
“We will definitely be doing our winning competition pieces and our traditional kick finale,” Davis said. “But for some more fun pieces, you can expect a celebrity dance battle and some secret surprises!”
The seniors will perform one final time on stage at the spring show, and everyone will get to show off what they’ve accomplished as a dancer this school year.
“The show is this team’s final goodbye to the community and the program,” Davis said. “It is our Seniors’ last dance on our stage, with their team and in their uniform. We work really hard to use the show as a display of our growth as dancers and as a family, hoping that the audience feels the fun, effort and passion we have put into the program.
