Basketball season has started, and for Lady Badgers practice for this season started Oct. 18. The first game of the season shoots off Nov. 4 in Georgetown, with the varsity tournament at Leander Rouse Nov. 9 – 11. Their home opener will be Nov. 14 versus Leander Glenn.
Lady Badger basketball is coached by Chris Jost — a new coach this year who has a 26 year long history with coaching. He previously coached at Marble Falls, Comanche and San Saba.
Even though there are new faces in the Lady Badger crowd, the teammates are coming together and forming connections with each other as the pre-season moves forward.
“Because we are such a new team, and have never really played together before this upcoming season, it’s hard to say how we fit with each other,” Senior Morgan Bobo said. “I have seen a lot of sparks and team connections that show how our team will work together.”
Jost is steadfast at building a team that will bond and do well this season.
“I’ve been working to build rapport and trust with the girls, and to help them build team chemistry as a new group together,” Jost said.
Like players in every sport, the Lady Badgers have goals and expectations, and the team is coming in hot with intensity and extreme focus to accomplish the goals they set their minds on.
“One of my goals, as I’m sure it’s similar to most of the girls on the team, is to make a playoff run,” Bobo said. “Lampasas girls basketball has not made it past the first round in a while, so I am hoping — this season — we can make it happen.”
