With the second half of the season underway, the volleyball team focuses on setting the standards and expectations for a successful finish.

“I think we have what it takes to end this season on a good note,” junior Monica Garza said. “We have been competing very, and I’m glad I am spending this season with these great girls.”

Junior Victoria Martinez said that the past tournaments and games have showed the team’s strength and weaknesses.

“We are all learning how to work together better and what we need to improve on,” Martinez said. “When game time comes, we should be ready to take on a lot of the challenges we have had before.”

The Lady Badgers play Liberty Hill on Badger territory on Sept. 29. The Lady Panthers are undefeated with a 4-0 record in district this season.

“I am excited about the rest of the games, and i think we can finish off with a positive record in district,” Garza said. “I feel like we have prepared ourselves well for this game, so the team will be ready to perform. It’s one of our last chances to sort out the kinks we may still have.”

Any and all support for the Lady Badgers this season would be greatly appreciated Garza said.

“The support of the crowd really makes me feel better when playing,” Garza said. “It just really motivates me to give my best effort out there when playing, and I am sure it does the same for the other girls.”

The Lady Badgers have 7 remaining games to finish off the season.

Junior Diane Hurst says that she thinks the Lady Badgers are ready to finish off their district games.

“We work tremendously hard at practice, and in the games,” Hurst said. “I think that we have a good chance to surprise the other teams who may be doubting us.”

The team has a 1-4 record for district games this season. On Oct. 3, the Lady Badgers will be playing at Taylor High School who are also 1-4 for district games this season.
