The job fair Feb. 26 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. will allow juniors and seniors to connect with employers or be hired on the spot.
“This job fair event is an empowering face-to-face event for the students to take advantage of the opportunities with employers here in the community in the comfort of their home badger gym,” career coach Chelsea Hershberger said.
There are 16 employers committed to attend the event. There will be employers set up to speak to students, and employers who are ready to hire.
“Job opportunities will vary per company and age requirements for positions, so that will depend on each specific employer,” Hershberger said.
When arriving at the event, be as professionally prepared as possible. This means dress for success, have a resume at the ready, and be prepared to advocate for yourself.
“Students should expect to go to each of the employer tables to at least introduce themselves and pick up any information employers have to offer,” CTE director Liz Haviland said. “If students have a resume, it would be handy to bring several copies in a folder to hand out to employers.”
Even if students are not looking to be hired, coming to this event will allow them to build a professional network.
“This student-focused job fair is a perfect opportunity to take advantage of the career paths here in the community that are or will be available to them,” Hershberger said.
The main goal of this event is to help students learn about all the available career options and gain insight from industry professionals.
“Mrs. Haviland has created an amazing team that brought this event together to ensure students are discovering their career potential and a chance to go after their future goals and success stories in the workforce,” Hershberger said.
