The first pep rally of the school year will be Aug. 30. The theme will be Teen Beach Movie: Surfers vs. Bikers. The themes for the other pep rallies will be The Greatest Showman, Hunting for a Cure, and Childhood Rewind.

“The seniors each year get to come up with the pep rally themes,” cheer coach Shannon Lindsey said. “I think they have come up with some really cute themes this year, and I am excited to watch their vision come to reality at the pep rallies.”

There are four seniors on the team who collectively picked the themes. 

“To come up with the four pep rally themes, the four leaders, Tatum Duncan, Pacey Underwood, Julia Ybarra, and myself, decided to get together on a weekend and come up with some potentially cute ideas,” senior Cadence Stephens said. “This year, I am most excited about Teen Beach Movie! I think it is the perfect first pep rally as we are transitioning from summer to the new school year!”

Pep rallies allow the cheerleaders to become closer because of the time spent preparing and practicing together. 

 “Pep rally season is by far my favorite of the different cheer seasons,” Stephens said. “It lets the team show off their best abilities and also grow and have fun together! It is where most people begin to bond and we become a family. We are super excited to be able to perform these for the school!” 

Lindsey said she hopes to see lots of participation from all students at the upcoming pep rallies.

“We love when the student body gets excited and involved in the pep rallies,” Lindsey said. “We want to encourage everyone to come and show your school spirit and get excited for all the things going on in Badger Nation! We can’t wait to see you there!”
