As graduation grows closer and closer for the class of 2021, a meeting was held  Nov. 2 to showcase the various packages of caps and gowns that graduates could order.

“I’m not all that interested in the extra stuff like the jewelry that comes with the cap and gown packages,” senior Ellen Cleaton said. “I just want to get the cap and gown and be on my way.”

Students need to write down their correct size and order information in their packets before tomorrow to meet the deadline. At that time the Herff Jones representatives will be on campus to collect the orders during both lunches. However, that is not the only time to place the order. The representatives will return after Thanksgiving break to collect the remaining order forms.

“I am perpetually scared of the future, but it will probably be fine,” senior Mary Osbourne said.

Since graduation is seen as an important stepping stone in a young adult’s life, being sent off on such an important note is critical to the tradition. That’s why these gowns and caps mean so much more than the fabric they’re made of. They signify a great deal for a young student just starting to make an impact on the world.

“I know that I already put a lot of hard work into what I’m doing and that it’s going to work out in the end,” Cleaton said.
