The lights were bright, crowds were cheering, and the Badgers were fighting for a win against rivals Gatesville for the Homecoming game.

The boys lost a close game. 33-27. There was some controversy after the game. Many fans believe the refs had lost the game for Lampasas. The offense was inside the Badgers redzone, and the referees did not stop the clock and spot the ball properly, so the clock ran out and Gatesville won the game.

No game is won by a single play. At the half, Gatesville was ahead 28-7. The second half is where the game started to take a turn. The team started scoring more consistently and started moving the ball down the field at a faster pace. Defense started to pick up on tackles, but could not hold them towards the end and the Hornets ended up scoring late in the 4th quarter.

The game had the fans all riled up. After the clock ran out, the crowd was in an uproar. The referees were then escorted out of the stadium by police officials.

The internet blew up after the game. Throughout Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram people were complaining about the missed calls.

“Tonight’s game was STOLEN from us. This game will go down in the biggest sham in Badger football History. I want the football players to know THEY WON!” one fan Tweeted.

The referees were wrong throughout the game. Majority of penalties called were towards Badgers. Hardly any flags were thrown against Gatesville.
