Music Plays Between Classes On Fridays

Walking down the halls on Friday afternoon, you are sure to hear people singing to the music from the intercom. On Fridays, the school plays music throughout the halls.

“The music really hypes me up for the game,” Senior Kanon Kennedy said. “It makes it a surreal feeling for the game. Plus, they play some really good tunes. I like when they play Rock ‘N Roll songs, because it really makes going to class fun.”

Between every passing period, the school plays songs requested by students. The administrators play every genre of music. From Rock, to Country, to Rap, and even to theme songs of famous tv shows.

“The music in the hallway really makes the passing period exciting,” Sophomore Jack Jerome said. “Since it is also gameday for us football players and the volleyball players, the music helps prepare us for the game. Not only does it help prepare for a game, it makes us want to go to our classes. I feel like the music puts a boost into everybody,” Jerome said.

According to the website Psychology Today, studies show that music helps students focus and improves mood. Different genres go with different personalities. Starting to play music in the hallways can create an atmosphere of joy and willingness to learn.

“I love music,” Junior Dustin Engdahl said. “It really makes me excited to learn and get a good education. I love that music helps with almost everything. There is no stopping the power of a good song. It can literally help you in an situation or mood you’re in,” Engdahl said.
