I think it’s an important tradition, and always has been, because people believe in their school and their activities.

— Darren Masur, Herff Jones representative

Herff Jones sold a variety of class rings to juniors and seniors outside of the library Sept. 18 and 19. Employees plan to return on Sept. 28 for additional sales. If you are curious about the schedule or have any questions, go to the front office for information.

“On average, we sell about 75 to 100 class rings per year,” campus representative for the company Darren Masur said. “Prices range from $80 up to $500. Most of the kids get the Badger 20/20 special, which is $279.”

Available at the Herff Jones booth is a pamphlet which shows the many choices of rings, packages and customization options they offer. Students can also order a ring online at the Herff Jones website.

“You can customize the Badger Pride design that we have,” Masur said. “The students can pick based on whatever activities they’re interested in. If you’re in athletics, band, fine arts, or any other curriculum, you can find it in the catalog.”

Students are encouraged to buy their ring as soon as they can.

“We usually try to deliver the rings before Christmas of the junior year,” Masur said. “This is so the kids can wear their rings during the rest of their junior year and senior year.”

Design options include graduation year, zodiac sign, name, etc. Students can customize the style of ring, stones, engravings, and much more.

“I bought a ring, my dad bought a high school and college ring, as did my sons who are now in college,” Masur said. “I think it’s an important tradition, and always has been, because people believe in their school and their activities.” I think the ring is more than just a symbol for graduation, it’s a symbol for the four years you spend on this campus.”
