For the first pep rally of the school year, the cheer captains decided to make the theme for the first home football game “meme/media day.” Many students decided to participate in the theme and show off their school spirit to prepare and get them energized for the first game of the season.

Senior Cheyenne Vessels participated in dressing up as a meme.

“I like dressing up at school, and I think it is really fun to be a part of the school and showing off my school spirit,’ Vessels said. “I am also glad that the theme switches up every week and I love showing off my outfit for each gameday.”

The football team has five home games providing the school with a total of five pep rallies with a different theme for each of the home games.

Senior Katie Kozma enjoys the pep rally themes and likes seeing all of the people dress up and in good moods.

“Fridays are my favorite day of the week, and when we do something cool like a theme, it just gets me so much more excited to watch our players win the game later on in the day,” Kozma said. “At the beginning of each week of a home game, I find out what the theme of the week is and get my outfit ready so I can show that I have lots of school spirit.”

Presley Underwood is another senior who says that she loves the themes each Friday and that they get her really excited.

“I love walking through the halls and seeing what all the people decided to come to school as,” Underwood said. “As a cheerleader, my school spirit is very high and i hope that it rubs off on everyone around me because if the whole school has high spirits, then our pep rallies will be even more exciting and our football team will play even harder know we are all motivated to see them.”

This week’s pep rally theme is Star Wars where the cheerleaders and students can dress up as whatever they want from the Star Wars universe.
