Four the Win
Athletes Participate in Multiple Sports
May 23, 2018
This school year, three athletes lettered in four sports. These students competed in a sport every month of the school year.
Junior Dylan Kannan competes in football, wrestling, soccer, and track.
¨Being a four-sport athlete is very hard, and that is why many people don’t do it,¨ Kannan said. ¨It comes with a lot of responsibility and hard work, but I could not do it without my teammates who pushed me to work hard and do better.¨
Kannan said sometimes the sports may interfere with each other.
¨My teammates understand that I may miss a practice or game because of another sport and be okay with it,” Kannan said. “I trust them to go and compete their hardest as if I were with them.¨
Kannan said that he feels a rush in each sport when going against all of the other competitors on different teams.
¨I love playing multiple sports because going against other schools with your teammates by your side is a great experience no matter what the sport is,¨ Kannan said. ¨All of these sports have caused me to form a strong bond with many different teammates on many different teams.¨
Junior Natalie Denoso has also competed in four sports this year: wrestling, powerlifting, track, and softball.
¨I have always competed in many sports, and now that I competed in wrestling this year, my schedule has gotten even busier,¨ Denoso said. ¨Playing many sports is hard, but it is also very fun at times. I feel that each sport gets me better for another, and I am always excited to go out and compete against another school. I love when I get to come together with my teammates and pull off a big win and whatever sport it is, I just want to be the best athlete that I can be.¨
Another athlete who competed in four sports is senior Erica Rodriguez. Rodriguez has competed in volleyball, basketball, soccer, and track this year.
¨I have always wanted to compete in multiple sports,¨ Rodriguez said. ¨I wanted to do as much as I could for my senior year to finish high school in a big way.¨
