Seniors gather around, bonding with one another: sharing stories, enjoying food and having a great time. As the sun begins to rise, it marks a new beginning for everyone.
The beginning of their final year together.
Seniors gathered together at Senior Sunrise Sept. 26 to make new memories and kickstart their final year together.

“It was excellent,” senior Juan Gomez Henriquez said. “It’s my last year. I want to enjoy it, and it’s really pretty.”
Senior Sunrise offered food and drinks. The main focus was for seniors to spend time with each other.
“I think we have great seniors here,” Principal Paul Weinheimer said. “I appreciate their leadership. Their positive energy is being spread and I’m just really excited to see this class finish up the year.”
Senior Johnnie Lewis took leadership when planning for this event with the main goal of everyone looking back and having Senior Sunrise as a good time.
“It was scheduled for the 26 because Mr. Weinheimer and I didn’t have enough time to discuss, otherwise it would have been on the first day of school,” she said. “We picked the 26 because it’s homecoming week and I think it’s pretty memorable to have it on your senior year of homecoming.”
Weinheimer said that Senior Sunrise didn’t happen for several years until 2024
“Last year, some students came to me and said they wanted to do it,” he said. “This was closer to the end of the year and so we did both at the end of the year, sunrise and sunset. Couple students this year asked me to do it, and I said yes. I wanted all seniors to help each other, work together.”
As the beginning slowly shifts to the end, seniors spend their final year together – forming new friendships and reminiscing old memories.
“Thank you to all the friends that came with me and everybody that I met,” Gomez Henriquez said. “It’s a great year.”
