Promenade was hosted Mar. 29 at W.M. Brook Park at 6 p.m. After writing their names on a notecard, students waited for their names to be called and walked across the decorated bridge.
Senior Jaden Carnes attended the promenade with sophomore Nichole Kowalske. This was their first time participating at the promenade.
“It’s nice getting to see some people that I actually know and hang out with my boyfriend,” Kowalske said.
Junior Vella Bushong went to the promenade with sophomore Grayson Eddinger.
“So far it’s great,” Bushong said. “The people are pretty cool.”
Junior Evan Harrington attended the promenade with a group of friends including junior Nathan Lee-Clarkston and junior Jayden Hesselbacher.
“Everyone looks nice,” Hesselbacher said.
Junior Peighton Hamilton looked forward to walking across the bridge; she also helped decorate the bridge for the promenade.

“I really enjoy it because I was out here yesterday helping them, because I’m part of the junior class officers, and I got to watch one of the boys climb up on top of [the bridge] to hang it,” Hamilton said.
Freshman Jackson Wright enjoyed the promenade decoration.
“I think the theme this year was pretty nice, even though this is my first year seeing it,” Wright said. “It was really fancy. It was a very nice setup.”
Prom began at 7 p.m. and lasted until 10 p.m. It was hosted at the Lampasas County Stock Show Barn. This year’s prom theme was the Golden Hour Gala.
“This was my first prom,” Wright said. “This was a first impression for the next three years I do end up going to prom and it made a good one.”
Wright said that everyone looked nice and that there were many pretty dresses with nice patterns.
“Prom is a big step-up from any other formal school-led events I’ve been to in the past,” Wright said. “They took this one more seriously and put more effort into this event.”
Wright said Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” song had him and mostly everyone else in the venue dancing. He spent most of the prom dancing with his date.
“I think my favorite part was slow dancing with my girlfriend,” Wright said. “It was a really sweet moment.”
The two went to Storm’s after prom to enjoy a nice dinner away from loud noise.
Sophomore Adrien Garza said he had a great experience at prom. His favorite part of prom was getting to hang out with upperclassmen friends who he doesn’t see often.
“It was a fun and interesting experience,” Garza said.
Garza and a few of his friends went to Storm’s after prom as well.
Junior Bianca Millanez had fun at prom with her date and best friend.
“At the beginning, it felt cramped, but as people started filing out, I got comfortable and started having my own fun dancing,” Millanez said.
Millanez’s favorite part of prom was having the opportunity to socialize and eventually get comfortable with dancing.
“Most of prom, I spent time with my best friend and date as well as finding other friends amongst the crowd,” Millanez said.
Millanez also enjoyed seeing her peers’ dresses and attire.
“Everyone looked so unique and dressed up–absolutely stunning,” Millanez said.
