Kristin Montague is starting her 20th year of education in a new position: assistant principal.
“I’ve been on elementary and middle school campuses, and so I wanted to experience a high school campus, and why not be on the best one in the district,” Montague said.
Montague said everyone has been very welcoming to her so far.
“The faculty has all been friendly,” Montague said. “The administrators have helped me, and the students have been kind and outgoing.”
Montague wants to meet as many students as possible.
“I want to be able to talk to students on a personal basis, know their names, their faces, know a little bit about them and just help grow the student body,” Montague said.
Montague has taught everything from first grade to twelfth grade and has served on several different leadership committees throughout different districts
“I have been district gifted and talented coordinator and UIL coordinator,” she said.
Sophomore Allison Fry said that Montague is nice and understanding.
“I have had many interactions with Mrs. Montague and they have all been really good,” Fry said.
Sophomore Jeremiah Peters said Montague is welcoming to everyone.
“She’s very nice,” Peters said. “I see her every day, and she always comes up to me with the biggest smile. Super nice, never rude, and always understanding.”
