The greenhouse class is hosting a plant sale tomorrow and Thursday to raise money for the greenhouse program. Tomorrow’s sale is open all day only to LHS staff. Thursday’s sale is open 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. to the public

Many plants have been planted this spring: Begonias, lavender, kale, and dusty millers are some of the plants planted.

“We have been hard at work since the beginning of the year,” greenhouse teacher Erica Edwards said. “We have spent days in the greenhouse weeding, fertilizing, planting, sweeping, etc.”

Along with learning greenhouse skills, this sale teaches students business skills.

“Through conducting this sale, the students learn responsibility, personable skills and money management,” Edwards said. “They also learn what goes into coordinating an event, as well as how to take pride in their work.”

This sale is the first spring sale the greenhouse program has hosted.

“We are learning with everything we do,” Edwards said. “We hope to get bigger and better with each sale.”

The students are proud of their work so far.

“I think everyone is doing a great job and doing their best,” sophomore Nevaeh Trujillo said.

Edwards has confidence that the community will help benefit the program by buying plants through this sale.

“Our students have truly been working hard,” Edwards said.
