A new awning outside the cafeteria provides additional seating for students to enjoy the fresh air regardless of the weather. 

¨It’s nice and shady outside now and I like that,¨ junior Kolten Ramsey said.

Since January is a rainy month, the awning helps prevent falls and other injuries related to the ground being slippery.

̈The awning will definitely cause the outside to hold less moisture and cause less slips and falls,” assistant principal Paul Weinheimer said. 

Weinheimer said that the new awning has not led to more students sitting outside yet.
